Farewell ceremony for famed Armenian actor Vladimir Abajyan on Jan. 17
Civil funeral rites for ASSR People's Artist, distinguished master of Armenian theater, cinema and pop culture Vladimir Abajyan will start at 18:00 local time today at St. John the Baptist Church of Yerevan. The farewell ceremony for Vladimir Abajyan will take place between 12:00 and 14:00 local time on January 17 at Gabriel Sundukyan National Academic Theatre of Yerevan, the burial ceremony at 14:00 at Yerevan Pantheon, according to a governmental commission set up by a decision of Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
Vladimir Abajyan died on January 15 at the age of 86. Vladimir Abajyan was born in 1927 in Gyumri. He graduated from Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography and took a job in Sundukyan State Academic Theatre of Yerevan in 1951. Abajyan was awarded Movses Khorenatsi Medal in 1998.
