Zhoghovurd: Why didn’t Ivanishvili meet Hovik Abrahamyan?
The fact that visiting Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili did not meet Armenian National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan in Yerevan caused media speculation, Zhoghovurd reports. Some websites said that the cause was that Hovik Abrahamyan is on close terms with Javakhk-born MP Vardan Ayvazyan and supports Mikheil Saakashvili with his help.
Gohar Poghosyan, a spokesperson for the NA Speaker, told the paper that “according to the protocol, prime ministers have no parliamentary meetings while on official visits, with the exception of parliamentary countries.”
