Zhoghovurd: Why do state officials’ sons refuse to become judges?
The son of Armenian Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan, Narek Hovsepyan, refused to become a judge, Zhoghovurd reports. The closed session of the Council of Justice on January 17 discussed the withdrawal of his name from the list of candidates for judge. The withdrawal of the name of the son of Constitutional Court Chairman Gagik Harutyunyan, Artak Harutyunyan, was also discussed.
“We have not yet managed to find out why the sons of high-ranking officials gave up their plans of becoming judges. Either they received a more attractive offer or the political situation is not reassuring,” the paper writes.
