Concert dedicated to 90th anniversary of conservatory
Tomorrow, at the Chamber Music House, the Armenian State Chamber Choir will give a concert dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas.
Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas has been founded in 1921. At first it served as a musical center and after two years it became a musical higher educational institution.
The first founder of the Conservatory was musician-composer, conductor of choir, graduate of Moscow Conservatory Romanos Melikyan. The first teachers of the conservatory were famous pianists A. Mnatsakanyan, I. Madatyan, E. Khosrovyan, violinists A.
Gabrielyan, D. Soghomonyan, G. Mirza-Avagyan as well as A. Kotlyarevski and A. Ayvazyan.
Conservatory has symphonic, chamber, folk musical instruments choirs and folk choir, etc.
