Presidential candidate Serzh Sargsyan visited today Lori region as part of his election campaign. His first meeting was in the city of Alaverdi.

In his remarks during a meeting with the population, Serzh Sargsyan said that country’s progress is very important, but only those countries can make progress where citizens’ right of expression is respected, appreciated and protected.  

“Much work has been done in this direction over the past five years, and I am sure that you all witness the reforms, particularly those concerning freedom of expression,” said the presidential candidate.

However, according to him, the country cannot make progress if there is no confidence in state bodies, courts and justice system, and ensuring transparency and efficiency of the work of these bodies will be one of his priority tasks.

“I am confident that the work of these bodies will be improved considerably because without it, I cannot even imagine the secure Armenia which we seek to have,” said Serzh Sargsyan.

Repatriation should be the priority task for the coming five years, he stressed.

“This is not only the problem of the state - this is our common problem, and we have to create proper atmosphere,” said the presidential candidate.
