Hayrikyan has to accept possibility of postponing elections for 15 days
Presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan told Radio Libertythat he would not wish to postpone the elections, adding that, nevertheless, he has to accept the possibility of postponing the elections for 15 days.
“There are two ways: to postpone the elections either for 15 days or 40 days. I do not want it because I also think that we have entered the electoral process. However, I have to accept the possibility of postponing the elections for 15 days,” said the presidential candidate.
Presidential candidate, chairman of National Self-Determination Union Paruyr Hayrikyan was shot and wounded by unknown gunmen in Yerevan at 23:30 local time Thursday. He was taken to Surb Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center. Hayrikyan was operated on this morning and the bullet was removed from his body. The patient’s condition is satisfactory, doctors say. He is at the intensive care unit and will stay there for 3 days.
