Malatya street named after Hrant Dink
The name of Hrant Dink, the assassinated editor-in-chief of the Armenian-Turkish weekly Agos, is given to the street of his childhood home in the eastern Turkish city of Malatya, Radikal reported.
According to Malatya Mayor Ahmet Cakir, around 2,400 streets in Malatya are currently undergoing name changes, with Dink’s childhood street in the Cavusoglu neighborhood being one of them. The streets are being renamed after famous people, including those killed as well as people who made a great contribution to the political or artistic life of Turkey, he added.
