Andrias Ghukasyan to have medical tests
The campaign headquarters of presidential candidate Andrias Ghukasyan issued a statement responding to the proposal made by Armenian Health Minister Derenik Dumanyan.
The statement reads: “Being for providing information about the health condition of Andrias Ghukasyan, we are concerned that the proposal of the Health Minister on full medical check-up for the candidate might become a means of forcing him to end hunger strike due to the necessity of hospitalization, as hinted by Derenik Dumanyan.
Dismissing any approach that implies compulsion and having discussed the issue with Andrias Ghukasyan’s doctors, we decided that on February 11 Andrias Ghukasyan would have blood and other types of tests without leaving the site of the hunger strike. If the results of the tests reveal the need for further medical check-ups, a decision will be made additionally.”
