President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a meeting on Friday with the participation of the heads of law enforcement bodies related to the personal security of all presidential candidates in the framework of the election process as well as to the ensuring their full and equal participation in the elections.

The meeting focused on the constitutional, legal and international guarantees for the RA presidential candidates’ normal political activities as well as the most practical and efficient implementation of the responsibilities assumed by the state and aimed at the fulfillment of these guarantees.

At the meeting, the Head of the RA National Security Service (NSS) provided information on the process of the preliminary investigation conducted in the framework of the criminal case filed in connection with the assassination attempt against the RA presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan. The Head of the NSS noted that the investigation had already yielded some results which allowed to take concrete steps to thoroughly clarify all significant circumstances of the case.

The President of Armenia expressed satisfaction with the work conducted by the law enforcement bodies in connection with this case, presidential press service reported.
