Azerbaijani Defense Ministry issued a release over the soldiers who died during the crash of the Mi-17 helicopter. According to the Azerbaijani news agency “APA” which refers to the press service of the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan, in a helicopter crash Captain Yashar Ahmadov Mail oglu, Lieutenant Rustamov Gyulguseyn Rustam oglu and Lieutenant Zeynalov Bahruz Novruz oglu were killed. Rustam Rustamov’s body was found in the sea, the search for the others continues.

As noted by Azerbaijani news agency "Trend", a helicopter that belonged to the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, fell near Salyan highway near the village of Shikhovo in Baku. The official press service of Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan noted that on Monday at 10:30 the helicopter disappeared from radars and crashed near the beach of Shikhovo.

"Trend" agency reported that according to preliminary investigation, it was found out that the crash had occurred because of the limited visibility caused by dense fog. The helicopter crashed into the sea, 250 meters far from the shore. Additional forces are involved in rescuing processes. According to witnesses, an explosion was heard during the crash of the helicopter.

As noted by Azerbaijani news agency 1nyuz.az the helicopter was military-transporting, belonged to the health service and was heading to Kurdamir region in order to transport the sick soldiers to hospital.

It is noteworthy that today the Azerbaijani news agency APA reported that that the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan launched a large-scale military exercises near the border of NKR. According to the agency, which cites the military sources, the exercises that pass in Terter section of the front the leadership of Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan is watching over.
