Presidential candidate Serzh Sargsyan praised presidential candidates Raffi Hovannisian and Hrant Bagratyan and thanked his rivals during a meeting with voters in Yerevan’s Kentron administrative district on the last day of election campaign. 

In his remarks, the presidential candidate briefly presented the history of revolutions, emphasizing that many peoples have passed through a revolution during their history.

According to Serzh Sargsyan, civilized countries have found a solution against the closed circle of seizing power and revolutionary violence aimed at retaining the power, and this solution is called CONSTITUTION.

“I am happy that the Constitution, its letter and spirit wins during this election campaign. I am proud to state about it,” he said, adding that revolution is taking place in Armenia. “It is a constitutional revolution which we are making together.”

According to Serzh Sargsyan, it took place with the active participation of the society.

“It is also the beautiful campaign of Raffi Hovannisian who shook hands with thousands, tens of thousands of people. Some are trying to treat it with sarcasm but the reality is that Raffi changes culture in our country, he forms new political tradition. He proves that being opposition does not mean that you should spread hatred,” Serzh Sargsyan said.

Serzh Sargsyan also spoke about Hrant Bagratyan who was offering “Kyrgyz and Tunisian” ways.

“No matter how much I disagree with Bagratyan, I watch his interviews with great interest. I am happy that we have such MP in our parliament who is writing programs and trying to show an alternative way. Even if we do not agree with his opinion, we have no right to silence him,” he said.

“I am grateful to my opponents. I think that we are making a revolution in Armenia together with them. It is a constitutional revolution which first of all takes place in our consciousness,” Serzh Sargsyan concluded.
