Monitoring is underway, with every report of electoral violation being examined, spokesperson for Armenian Prosecutor General, Sona Truzyan, told Panorama.am.

According to her, all investigative units have been ordered in a short time to take measures stipulated by the law based on the reports.

Gala TV company actively reported violations over the past two days. All these reports are being checked, according to the spokesperson.

The spokesperson stressed that the Prosecutor General’s Office demanded to present factual grounds if there are such.

“Journalists have provided explanations on three cases. It should be established that no factual data on violations have been presented so far, and that most of the reports are anonymous,” Truzyan stated.

She called on journalists, representatives of candidates’ campaign headquarters as well as organizations to apply to law enforcement bodies as soon as possible in case of electoral violations, which will give a possibility to respond quickly and give a legal assessment in case the report is grounded.
