Central Electoral Commission sums up preliminary results of presidential election
The Central Electoral Commission of Armenia (CEC) held a special meeting to sum up the preliminary results of the February 18 presidential election.
The protocol of preliminary results of the presidential election was approved unanimously.
60.18 of the voters cast their ballots in the election, according to CEC chairman Tigran Mukuchyan.
According to preliminary results, Serzh Sargsyan won the first round of election with 861,160 votes, or 58.64 percent of the votes. Raffi Hovannisian is second with 539,672 votes (36.75 percent), followed by Hrant Bagratyan with 31,643 votes (2.15 percent), Paruyr Hayrikyan with 18,093 votes (1.23 percent), Andrias Ghukasyan with 8,328 votes (0.57 percent), Vardan Sedrakyan 6,203 (0.42 percent), Arman Melikyan 3,516 (0.24 percent).
