ICES: Armenian election legitimate and democratic
The International expert Center for Electoral Systems (ICES) calls Armenian presidential election legitimate and democratic.
“The international observer mission positively assesses the 2013 presidential election. The election was generally conducted in democratic conditions, was competitive and met all international standards,” head of ICES Alexander Tsinker told reporters today.
“The violations registered in the election process had a little impact on the transparency and democratic character of the election process. Thus we consider that the election is completed, that it is legitimate and democratic and was held in keeping with the electoral law,” the observer said.
