Azerbaijan fails to lead OSCE mission to frontline
On February 22, in accordance with the arrangement reached with the authorities of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, the OSCE mission conducted a planned monitoring of the line of contact between the armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan in Martuni direction, near the settlement of Kuropatkino.
From the positions of the NKR Defense Army, the monitoring was conducted by Field Assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Yevgeny Sharov (Ukraine) and Hristo Hristov (Bulgaria) and the member of their office Jonathan Ferraby (Canada).
From the opposite side, the monitoring was conducted by Field Assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Irji Aberle (Czech Republic) and William Prior (Great Britain).
No violation of the cease-fire regime was registered during the monitoring. However, the Azerbaijani side did not lead the OSCE mission to its frontline, as a result of which the monitoring was conducted from a farther distance.
From the Karabakh side, the monitoring mission was accompanied by representatives of the NKR Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense, NKR MFA press service reported.
