CEC rejects Raffi Hovannisian’s application
The Central Electoral Commission of Armenia (CEC) made a decision to reject the application of presidential candidate Raffi Hovannisian demanding to invalidate the candidacy of Serzh Sargsyan, claiming that there has been abuse of administrative resources, overspending and an excessive number of campaign materials, which, the applicant said, affected the election results.
According to CEC chairman Tigran Mukuchyan, there are insufficient facts that can affect the election results.
CEC has found out that during the election campaign, there was no violation in terms of spending and campaigning, and that the processes were in line with the RA legislation as well as with the proposals and recommendations of the OSCE/ODIHR and other international organizations.
