Currently we have a situation when the incumbent President won reelection and the candidate who came second in the election traditionally does not recognize the election results, political scientist Sergey Minasyan told reporters today.  

According to him, Raffi Hovannisian and his supporters are trying to turn the resources they got through their votes into capital in order to use it in the further political struggle.

Raffi Hovannisian’s actions show that he avoids color revolutions, Minasyan said.

“Raffi Hovanissian’s meeting with Serzh Sargsyan raised the legitimacy level of Sargsyan. Raffi Hovannisian has chosen the path of long political struggle and its use in the forthcoming political events – be it the election of Yerevan Mayor or theoretically possible snap parliamentary election,” the expert said.
