25th anniversary of Artsakh movement marked in Lebanon
Series of events have been held in Lebanon on February 21-25 dedicated to the 25 anniversary of Artsakh movement.
The press and information department of the RA MFA says that the events kicked off on February 21. In “Erjo Samvelyan Eraguyn” hall of Burj Hamud an exhibition was organized the opening of which was held by the head of the Lebanese Armenian Diocese Archbishop Gegham Hacheryan, Armenian Ambassador to Lebanon Ashot Kocharyan, NKR Representative in the Middle East Caro Kebabjyan, Minister of Industry of Lebanon Vrezh Sapundjyan.Photos presenting the daily life of Artsakh have been presented as well as the portrait of the killed heroes made by Seyran Khatlamachyan.
On February 22, at “Hovhannes Poghosyan” theater, a festival of national and revolutionary songs was held. Thousands of young people were present at the song festival. Young singers, dancing groups have been present at the festival, patriotic songs have been performed.
On February 24 Holy Liturgy has been served in the St. Poghos church of Aynchar village inhabited by Armenians. The service for the memory of the fallen soldier-liberators of Artsakh was led by Archbishop Hacheryan.
After the ceremony of laying wreath at the memorial of Musa Ler’s Heroes a meeting with the famous Bulgarian journalist Tsvetana Paskaleva was held in Gyulbekyan hall. She has presented to the attendees the documentary video footage titled “Wounds of Karabakh” and has answered questions of Aynchar inhabitants. The Mayor of Aynchar, representatives of NKR and Armenian embassy to Lebanon, “Red Mountain” committee members and inhabitants of Aynchar were present at the event.
The next meeting with Tsvetana Paskaleva has been organized at Burj Hamud’s “Ter Melkonyan” hall on 25th February. The author has presented details shot at the battle field. The documentary video footage “Wounds of Karabakh” have been presented, as well as films about the present Artsakh. Head of the Armenian Diocese of Lebanon awarded Pascaleva with the highest honor of Beirut diocese - the medal of "Khrimyan Hayrik." The Archbishop and the Armenian Ambassador to Lebanon Ashot Kocharian congratulated Bulgarian journalist on receiving a high prize and emphasized the importance of the work she has done for the international community presenting the truth about Karabakh conflict. Officials, NKR Representative in the Middle East, the mayor of Bourj Hamoud were present at the meeting.
