Artak Davtyan: Armenia has made significant progress in foreign policy
German Bundestag delegation’s visit to Armenia once again confirmed that Armenia has made significant progress in foreign policy during recent years, member of RPA parliamentary faction, head of Armenia-Germany Parliamentary Friendship Group Artak Davtyan told a news conference when summing up the results of German Bundestag President Nobert Lammert’s official visit to Armenia on March 5-7.
Commenting on the visit, Davtyan pointed to two important circumstances. The first is that the visit was not regional. “I think this points to the important role of our country,” he said. The second important factor is that the German Bundestag delegation’s visit to Armenia followed the Turkey visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, according to Davtyan.
“In this respect, the visit of the second senior official of Germany was important not only in the respect of further development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, but also confirms that Germany gives importance to the role of Armenia in our region,” Davtyan said.
During the visit, the two sides reached agreements on Armenian parliamentary delegation’s visit to Germany as well as other topical issues related to the bilateral relations between Armenia and Germany, the parliamentarian said.
