Humorist Aramais Sahakyan dies aged 76
Armenian writer, poet and humorist Aramais Sahakyan has died at Yerevan’s Kanaker-Zeytun medical center aged 76.
Head of the medical center, Hayk Petrosyan, told Panorama.am that Sahakyan was being treated at the hospital’s hematology unit for myeloid leukemia, and that he was transferred to the intensive care unit after his health deteriorated one week ago.
Aramais Sahakyan was the editor-in-chief of satirical "Vozni" (Hedgehog) newspaper, author of “Tsitsaghi Tun" (House of Laughter) TV program. His works were translated into more than 30 languages.
