Iraqi Barça fan kills friend for being a Madrid fan
An Iraqi Barcelona fan murdered a friend on Monday in the village of Madaen, 30 kilometres south of Baghdad supposedly because he was a Real Madrid fan, Marca.com reported, citing the local newspaper Al Zamán.
A source at the Iraqi Interior ministry explained to the paper that the Barça supporter slit the throat of his friend with a knife while inflicting cuts on various parts of his body in an amusement arcade in the Al Yaara area.
Other people in the arcade at the same time managed to catch the attacker after the crime and handed him over to the police.
According to the paper, this is not the first time this type of crime has been committed in Iraq, as last April a knife fight took place between fans of the two clubs where a number of supporters were injured.
