Gagik Tsarukyan not planning to buy Armavia – spokesperson
“This information is ungrounded. Gagik Tsarukyan has never had an intention of buying Armavia,” PAP leader’s spokesperson, Iveta Tonoyan, told Panorama.am.
According to Hraparak daily, PAP leader met with owner of Armavia Air Company Mika Baghdasarov recently. During the meeting, the parties discussed the sale of Armavia Air Company. The paper says Tsarukyan intends to buy it and is persuading Baghdasarov to declare the company bankrupt, after which the company will be sold. But the government is against it as the unpaid salaries will trigger protests. Therefore, they want the debts to be paid off before the company is sold.
The spokesperson said she is not aware of the meeting between Tsarukyan and Baghdasarov.
