Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan refuses to register Talish organization because of its name
The newly established "Azeri-Talish" NGO in Azerbaijan held a celebrations in connection with Novruz in Baku. As the site Modern.az reports, participant of the event - the head of the Association of Azerbaijani intellectuals Eldaniz Guliyev congratulated everyone on the day and said that the Talish people are going to get engaged in the process of democratization of Azerbaijan more actively.
Guliyev noted that the "Azeri - Talish" union has applied for receiving a state registration for several times, but has each time been refused on farfetched reasons: "The Justice Ministry told us that we will be register only if we remove the word "Talish" from the title."
In his turn, the head of the association Mehtibey Safarov expressed his regret about some forces that are spreading false information about the organization in order to mislead public opinion. He urged the Azeri officials not to ignore the attitude of Talish people to their homeland, to Azerbaijan.
