Swiss charge d'affaires summoned to Iranian Foreign Ministry over chemical weapons use in Aleppo
Iran says the responsibility for the use of chemical weapons in Aleppo falls on the United States, Iran’s Mehr news agency reported.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry summoned the Swiss charge d'affaires and told him "the American government has a responsibility to stop Syrian rebels from acquiring and using such weapons," Mehr said, quoting ministry official Mohsen Naziri.
Switzerland represents US interests in Iran, which severed diplomatic relations with Washington in 1979.
According to Syria’s state-run news agency SANA, Syrian rebels have fired chemical weapons in Aleppo, killing 15.
