Candidates' Tournament: Aronian,Carlsen increase lead to 1.5 points
By winning in round 6 Levon Aronian and Magnus Carlsen increased their lead at the FIDE Candidates' Tournament to 1.5 points. Carlsen beat Svidler from the black side of a Closed Ruy Lopez while Aronian profted from a blunder by Radjabov in the 7th hour of play. In a Closed Catalan, Vladimir Kramnik sacrificed an exchange and then a piece but despite getting into time trouble yet again, Vassily Ivanchuk defended well and held the draw. Alexander Grischuk and Boris Gelfand drew an exciting 3.Bb5 Sicilian, ChessVibes reported.
