Fact of Armenian Genocide should be recorded in memory of mankind, says Genocide scholar
Currently, we should focus not on the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide by a general approach, but rather on recording the fact of the Genocide in the memory of mankind through a detailed study of the issue, Dr. Mihran Dabag, director of the Institute for Diaspora and Genocide Studies at Ruhr University in Bochum in Germany, said in his remarks at a Yerevan-hosted conference titled “Armenian Genocide: challenges on the eve of the centenary.”
According to him, we should record the grave facts of the Armenian Genocide in the memory of mankind to prevent recurrence of such crimes in the future.
The Genocide scholar voiced his concern about the fact that a World War I museum will be created in Europe in 2014, leaving out the facts of Armenian Genocide, with a key focus on the consequences of the 1917 revolution in Russia.
“We should carry out the policy of recording the fact of Armenian Genocide in the memory of mankind in parallel with the process of the Genocide international recognition,” Mihran Dabag said.
