Parliament intruder has criminal record, suffers from mental disorder
The Special Investigation Service has opened a criminal case in connection with the parliament incident, spokesperson for Armenian Prosecutor General’s Office Sona Truzyan told Panorama.am.
She said that at about 14:50, a man armed with a knife attempted to enter Armenia’s parliament building, ignoring the orders of security officers and threatening them with knife.
A shot was fired in the air, but the intruder continued his way, forcing policemen to fire at his leg.
The man received a gunshot wound in the left thigh. He was taken to hospital and is being operated on now, Ms Truzyan said.
Vrezh Galstyan, 25, a resident of the city of Masis, has two criminal records and suffers from a mental disorder, she added.
