Raffi Hovannisian on Armenia vs Czech Republic match: We should arrange our stars into constellations
This question is far away from my profession, and I respect our national team’s coach, Heritage leader Raffi Hovannisian told a news conference at Liberty Square of Yerevan, where he has been on hunger strike since March 10, when asked if he thinks that the coach of Armenian national team should resign after yesterday’s match.
Armenia lost 0-3 to the Czech Republic in a home match on March 26.
“Some of our players showed an excellent game, while some committed errors, which should be a lesson both for them and the coach. I must just say that our team should play more collectively. We certainly have individuals, stars, but we should be able to arrange our stars into constellations. We did not manage that yesterday. We saw star flights but we should be able to achieve results with joint efforts both in sports and in politics,” Hovannisian said.
According to the official results of the presidential elections in Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan won the elections with 58.64% of the votes, while his closest rival, Raffi Hovannisian, received 36.75% of the votes. Hovannisian disagrees with the election results and is holding mass protest actions. He began hunger strike at Liberty Square on March 10 evening.
