Iranian ambassador urges MP from Azerbaijani ruling party to respect his country’s independence
Members of Parliament should show respect in their speech and respect the independence of other countries, Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pak Ayeen was quoted as saying by Arannews.ir.
Referring to the correspondence between MP from the Azerbaijani ruling party Siyavush Novruzov and Vice Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Mansour Haghighat-Pour, the ambassador said, in part, “Although the opinions voiced by these MPs are not considered as the official position of the countries, the MPs should show respect in their letters and respect the independence, territorial integrity and official borders of other countries.”
Recently, in a letter to his Iranian colleague, Siyavush Novruzov said that one day he will become the chairman of “Southern Azerbaijan’s” parliament. In response, Mansour Haghighat-Pour wrote that he has doubts regarding the mental state of the Azerbaijani MP.
