Raffi Hovannisian has clearly mentioned what the problem is. The problem is the inauguration of Serzh Sargsyan planned for April 9. Therefore, there is a need to hold a new regional campaign. The political struggle of Raffi Hovannisian includes concrete steps aimed at recording the victory of people on April 9, Heritage party deputy chairman Armen Martirosyan told Panorama.am in an interview. 

Heritage leader Raffi Hovannisian announced during a rally on March 29 that on April 1, he will launch a four-day regional tour, for what he called a “national enlistment campaign,” during which he will recruit a citizens’ army for the liberation of the New Armenia.

“Raffi Hovannisian takes steps that will bring victory to the people. He says this to the people every day, during every rally. Raffi Hovannisian is again launching a regional tour to solve these issues,” Martirosyan said.

He added that Raffi Hovannisian’s regional tour is aimed at holding a large rally in Yerevan on April 9.

Asked how he thinks the “victory of the people” will be recorded in view of the fact that the presidential elections are over and the Constitutional Court rejected the appeal of Raffi Hovannisian, Martirosyan said, “You may come to Liberty Square on April 9 and we together will apprehend it.”

According to the official results of the presidential elections in Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan won the elections with 58.64% of the votes, while his closest rival, Raffi Hovannisian, received 36.75% of the votes. Hovannisian disagrees with the election results and is holding mass protest actions. Hovannisian was on hunger strike at Liberty Square of Yerevan from March 10 to March 31.
