Raffi Hovannisian: My correspondence with Serzh Sargsyan not deadlocked
The correspondence between Raffi Hovannisian and Serzh Sargsyan is not deadlocked, Heritage leader Raffi Hovannisian told reporters in Goris, adding that he repeatedly presented both written and verbal proposals but never received an adequate answer.
Hovannisian said that his struggle enters an important phase – “phase of law,” and that the people have civil and national will.
“We have to wait for eight days until the authorities decide whether or not they want to take the path of national unity,” Hovannisian said.
According to the official results of the presidential elections in Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan won the elections with 58.64% of the votes, while his closest rival, Raffi Hovannisian, received 36.75% of the votes. Hovannisian disagrees with the election results and is holding mass protest actions. Hovannisian was on hunger strike at Liberty Square of Yerevan from March 10 to March 31.
