Armenian Diaspora Minister to Iranian MFA spokesman: Iranian Armenians have special place in Armenian-Iranian relations
Iranian Armenians have a special place in Armenian-Iranian relations, Armenian Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan said at a meeting with visiting spokesman of Iran’s Foreign Ministry Ramin Mehmanparast, according to Iran’s news agency FARS.
Hranush Hakobyan expressed her satisfaction with the Iranian government’s policy towards the religious minorities, particularly the Armenians.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, for his part, noted that the Armenian-Iranian political relations are at a high level, adding that Tehran wants the current opportunities in culture, science, sport, tourism and other fields to be used for further strengthening the bilateral ties.
As part of his visit to Armenia, Ramin Mehmanparast has met with Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan and visited Yerevan State University and RA National Academy of Sciences.
According to Iran’s state-run news agency IRNA, the spokesman is to meet with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on Wednesday.
