Karine Achemyan: Raffi Hovannisian should make serious decision because number of his supporters is decreasing
The presidential inauguration ceremony is a holiday. It would be better if they congratulated the elected President like a man would do and participated in the processes that take place in our country, Republican MP Karine Achemyan told reporters in Yerevan.
Referring to the rallies and other actions of Heritage leader Raffi Hovannisian, Karine Achemyan said that it should have a logical end for a politician not to lose his image.
“Representatives of many political forces speak on behalf of the people. I think it’s unforgivable. Also, I think it is unforgivable to voice semi-revolution calls and to play on the nerves of people with problems as well as to spoil the presidential inauguration ceremony,” Achemyan said.
The Republican MP added that a politician should have willpower to admit that his defeat in the elections has its objective reasons.
“If Heritage party and its leader have something to say to the people, then they should have developed a program. But they have no program. Raffi Hovannisian should make a serious decision because the number of his supporters is decreasing,” Mrs Achemyan concluded.
Former presidential candidate Raffi Hovannisian Hovannisian disagrees with the results of the February 18 presidential elections in Armenia and has been leading mass protest actions. Hovannisian was on hunger strike at Liberty Square of Yerevan from March 10 to March 31.
