Newly appointed ambassador of Mexico to Armenia Rubén Alberto Beltrán Guerrero handed the copy of his credentials to Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on Monday. 

In his remarks, Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian expressed the hope that the implementation of the agreements reached during his visit to Mexico last year will give a new impetus to the development of cooperation between Armenia and Mexico. He added that the Armenian government has made a decision to open embassy in Mexico this year.

Ambassador Guerrero, for his part, said that his country gives importance to the development of comprehensive ties with Armenia, adding that he will strain every effort to further deepen the Armenian-Mexican friendship.

The interlocutors discussed issues related to the expansion of the legal-contractual field, cooperation within international organizations as well as trade and economic and cultural partnership, Armenian Foreign Ministry press service reported.
