Three dead after quake hits Iran near Bushehr nuclear plant
Three people were killed by a powerful earthquake in southern Iran on Tuesday, close to the country's only nuclear power station, Mehr News Agency reported.
The quake was centered about 91 kilometers southeast of Bushehr, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
Dashti Mayor has told reporters that magnitude 6.1 earthquake hit southern Iran, in the vicinity of a key nuclear facility, at 16:22. Initial reports said three people were killed in the quake.
The earthquake in no way affected the normal situation at the reactor, state-run IRNA reported.
