Gaitana ready to sing anthem in honour of Henrikh Mkhitaryan
The Pitmen’s midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is en route to a goalscoring record in the Ukrainian league, FC Shakhtar press office reports. Should two more goals arrive, the Armenian will go down in history as a player who has netted the highest number of goals in the competition in a single season.
Ukrainian pop star Gaitana, the author of the hit Shakhtar - Champion! decided to support her favourite team and Henrikh personally in a fascinating way. If Mkhitaryan scores 25 goals in the current championship, she will sing Shakhtar anthem in the Armenian language!
- I am a Shakhtar fan - the best team of the Ukrainian championship. I want to support the Pitmen in the last games of the season, and especially Henrikh Mkhitaryan - Gaitana said. - He has a difficult task on his shoulders - set a new record. I think the Shakhtar anthem will sound very beautiful in Armenian.
Gaitana is confident that the promise will be a good incentive for Henrikh, and he must help her with the translation of the words. It only remains to add that Mkhitaryan can make next steps towards a record next Saturday in the home match against Zorya Lugansk.
