Survey: Taron Margaryan named best Yerevan Mayor over past 20 years
Incumbent Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan has been named the best Yerevan Mayor over the past 20 years, head of Sociometer center Aharon Adibekyan told reporters on Thursday, presenting the results of surveys conducted in December 2012 and March 2013.
The surveys were ordered by three parties, including the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA). 63 percent of respondents think Taron Margaryan is the best Yerevan Mayor, Adibekyan said.
According to the survey, 34 percent of respondents have decided whom to vote for at Yerevan elections. The leader is RPA’s top candidate Taron Margaryan (24-25 percent), followed by PAP’s top candidate Vartan Oskanian (1-4 percent). Armen Martirosyan and Armen Yeritsyan, top candidates of Barev Yerevan and Orinats Yerkir election lists, received 0.5-1.7 percent. Only 0.4-1.6 percent of respondents are ready to vote for ARFD’s top candidate Armen Rustamyan.
