Elshad Abdullayev: Azerbaijani authorities send unwanted people abroad with falsified documents and kill them there
As the Azerbaijani news agency Haqqin.az reports, Elshad Abdullayev, the former rector of the Azerbaijan International University, who has immigrated to France, has criticized the authorities of Azerbaijan.
As noted in the article, E. Abdullayev, in his speech at a meeting of "National Unity Council of the European Azerbaijanis" in the Swiss city of Basel, noted that he was sent to a forced emigration by the ruling elite of Azerbaijan.
"I did not want to leave Azerbaijan, but they insisted on it. They supply me with a fake passport with Bulgarian citizenship, and then sent to Stuttgart. The principle of these people lies in the fact that they first sent the unwanted people abroad, and then kill them. The same thing happened with Sevinj Babaeva. The fake passport issued for covering up the crime. These people live with such principles," said E. Abdullayev.
He also noted that he would continue the fight for the criminals who kidnapped his brother were justly punished.
Late in September 2012 a video was spread in the Internet where Elshad Abdullayev, the former rector of International University of Azerbaijan, was bargaining with Azerbaijani MP Gular Ahmedova about the amount of the bribe which the rector was to pay to be “elected” as MP. After the video was covered in the Internet a criminal case on “fraud” was opened. Guler Ahmadova appealed to Parliament to rescind her mandate, and on October 3, CEC recognized her mandate invalid.
Abdullayev said that he applied to various state bodies of Azerbaijan in connection with the abduction of his brother. He also noted that he had met with the head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev and had discussed with him a number of questions. Mehdiyev declared Abdullayev’s all statements “libel”, but he did not deny the fact that the meeting had taken place. The videos published by E. Abdullayev present a person to represent the officers of law enforcement agencies of Azerbaijan, which are negotiating for the release of his brother and the other "affairs."
Sevinj Babaeva had serious ties within higher levels of Azerbaijan. She was known as a broker for buying and selling positions. She appeared on the videos where the process of "selling" of MP mandates was discussed. Later, Babaeva left for Turkey, where she soon died.
