Levon Ter-Petrosyan: Gagik Tsarukyan ‘cannot tear himself away from’ authorities
Gagik Tsarukyan ‘cannot tear himself away from’ the authorities. He has a huge economy, first Armenian President Levon Ter-Petrosyan said in his remarks at the Armenian National Congress (ANC) party’s founding congress. He reminded that businessman Khachatur Sukiasyan lost his fortune after he joined the opposition ANC in 2008.
At the same time Tsarukyan left the coalition, did not support Serzh Sargsyan in the presidential elections, did not attend his inauguration and is ready to come up against the authorities in the upcoming elections, Ter-Petrosyan said.
“I do not rule out that Prosperous Armenia Party will receive a serious blow in these elections,” he stated. Ter-Petrosyan believes that a bourgeois-democratic revolution would be the most successful one in Armenia.
“Armenia, small and medium business will not prosper until the upper bourgeoisie is freed of its chains,” said the first Armenian President, adding that this was what they wanted to do but some opposed this idea.
