Armenia ready to expand economic ties with Korea
International science conference on “Future perspectives of Armenian-Korean economic cooperation” has kicked off in Yerevan.
The event was organized jointly by the Korea Foundation and V. Brusov State Linguistic University of Yerevan.
Ms Park Ji Eun, adviser for the Korean Embassy in Yerevan, said in her remarks that there is every possibility for improving and expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.
Alexander Avetisyan, head of the Department of International Economic Cooperation of Armenian Ministry of Economy, for his part, stressed the importance of further development of trade and economic relations between Armenia and Korea, noting that Armenia is ready to cooperate and expand economic ties with Korea. Information technologies, pharmaceutics and light industry are among the most promising areas for cooperation, he said.
It was noted that trade turnover between Armenia and Korea totaled $50m in 2012.
