Armenia to assume CoE Committee of Ministers chairmanship on May 16
Armenia will assume the chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on May 16. The program of chairmanship will be presented in Strasbourg on May 16.
Acting Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland met today and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on opening a CoE office in Yerevan and on its legal status.
“It is important that we continue to strengthen the organization’s role and contribute to the implementation of the legal commitments assumed by member states,” Thorbjørn Jagland told reporters in Yerevan.
Andorra was the previous chair of the CoE Committee of Ministers.
