Henrikh Mkhitaryan: We aren’t afraid of anyone and won’t spare ourselves
Shakhtar’s Armenian midfielder has shared his expectations regarding the match in the quarterfinals of the Ukrainian Cup, according to FC Shakhtar press office.
- Henrikh, now Karpaty are sitting only in 14th place in the league, but at the same time were able to put up a good fight against Shakhtar in Lviv. Do you think the visitors will be particularly motivated tomorrow?
- Of course, Karpaty have big hopes regarding the Ukrainian Cup. They have reached the latter stages; they have come close to making it to the final of the competition. But let's not forget that we also want to do the ‘golden double’ by winning both domestic trophies this season, so we will do everything to win on Wednesday. We respect the opponents, but we are not afraid of anyone and won’t spare ourselves.
- Can a big win over Zorya relax the team before the upcoming match?
- The Ukrainian Cup is a different tournament. We understand that the slightest mistake can cost us dearly; in this regard everything is different here compared to the league. I hope that everything will be fine, but we need to be very concentrated. It will be a difficult match-up with Karpaty, but we will do everything to win it.
- Can the result with Dynamo affect the opponents’ mood?
- I do not think so. Immediately after the match with Dynamo, Karpaty face Shakhtar in another tournament. And the Lviv side’s motivation won’t be lower.
