Paruyr Hayrikyan to undergo surgery today in Belgium
Former presidential candidate, leader of National Self-Determination Union Paruyr Hayrikyan, who continues his treatment in Europe after being shot on January 31 2013 in Yerevan, has written on his Facebook page that he will undergo surgery in several hours.
“I have been in Europe for two weeks now. Now I am in Belgium, in Brussels. I have been here many times in the past, but now I am here as a patient. I will be operated on in 5 or 6 hours. I hope, or perhaps it would be more correct to say that if God wishes, everything will finish successfully. The doctors promised that they will at least know what is going on. They say the surgery will last 2-5 hours. Further details will be provided by private messages,” Hayrikyan wrote.
On March 28, Armenian government made a decision to allocate AMD 20.5 million for Hayrikyan’s treatment abroad.
Armenian presidential candidate, chairman of National Self-Determination Union Paruyr Hayrikyan was shot and wounded by unknown gunmen in Yerevan on January 31. He was taken to Surb Grigor Lusavorich hospital where he was operated on successfully on February 1.
