Panel discussion on “Global Economic Prospects and Role of Emerging Markets”
On April 22, 2013 Ameria Group of Companies and Global Shapers Community Yerevan Hub, as sole representatives of different communities of World Economic Forum in Armenia, organized a panel discussion on “Global Economic Prospects and Role of Emerging Markets” at Ararat Hall of Armenia Marriott Hotel.
The panel discussion was held among 3 panelists: Robert von Rekowsky, Vice-president of Emerging Markets Strategy, supporting the emerging market equity and fixed-income teams for Fidelity Investments, and at the same time, Independent Member of the Board of Directors of Ameriabank CJSC; Nerses Yeritsyan, Deputy Chairman of Central Bank of Armenia; Thomas Lubeck, Regional Manager of South Caucasus, International Finance Corporation.
The topics of discussion covered IMF’s recent revision of global economic forecasts, change among global growth drivers (countries), recent economic performance of Russia and China and their impact on the region, Armenia's numerous economic reforms in recent years and new ones to be expected, mandate and role of central banks, as well as anticipated structural changes in financial markets (including pension reforms) after recent economic crises.
Yerevan Hub of Global Shapers Community is one of 220 city hubs of Global Shapers Community, an initiative of World Economic Forum.
