No consensus on draft decision on setting up March 1 events committee; discussion postponed
The draft decision on setting up an ad hoc committee for the investigation of the March 1, 2008 events will be discussed at the next four-day session of parliament. This decision was made at today’s session of parliament.
Head of Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary faction Galust Sahakyan applied to the draft’s author Armenian National Congress (ANC) parliamentary faction and in particular Gagik Jhangiryan with the request to postpone the discussion.
“We had discussions with Mr Jhangiryan, but some issues still have to be discussed. I ask you to postpone the discussion until the next four-day session,” Galust Sahakyan said, addressing the parliament’s leadership and ANC parliamentary faction member Gagik Jhangiryan.
