Alekhine Memorial R7: Aronian draws with Vitiugov
Viswanathan Anand and Boris Gelfand, the two contestants in last year's World Championship match, were the two winners in round 7 of the Alekhine Memorial. Anand defeated Laurent Fressinet from a Scotch Opening that was not so clear for a long time, but just before the time control the Frenchman got into trouble. Gelfand won against Ding Liren after 77 moves in a King's Indian. After this round Boris Gelfand and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave are tied for first place with 4.5 points. Levon Aronian drew with Nikita Vitiugov.
