Famous Armenian philanthropist’s great grandson visiting Artsakh
On May 1, Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan received Alexander D’Janoeff, great grandson of famous Armenian philanthropist Michael Aramyants, his wife and writer Vahe Atanesyan.
Bako Sahakyan rated high the activities of Michael Aramyants, noting that he was a world famous entrepreneur and national philanthropist who provided substantial assistance to his people in solving many cultural, political, social and other issues. In this context President Sahakyan noted the importance of organizing on a state level solemn events dedicated to the 170th birthday of the great philanthropist and thanked writer Vahe Atanesyan for writing a book about the life of Michael Aramyants. The President stressed that remembering the outstanding representatives of the nation and assessing their contribution appropriately are among the key components of patriotic upbringing.
NKR Minister of Culture and Youth Affairs Narine Aghabalyan and other officials attended the meeting, Central Information Department at Artsakh President's Office reported.
