Puyol is too old for Milan, Galliani says
Milan have underlined that Barcelona stopper Carles Puyol doesn’t fit the criteria of a Rossonero transfer target, according to Football Italia.
Puyol was linked with the San Siro giants this morning, but, after the player himself ruled out such a move, the Diavolo have now done the same.
“There is nothing with regards to Puyol, I can assure you of that,” Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani told Mundo Deportivo.
“Carles is a good friend of Milan, he likes our colours, but right now veteran players are not part of our plans.
“Although we recognise the great value of Puyol, we are thinking of youngsters. That is our philosophy for next season and our future in general.
“Anyway, as far as I know, Puyol has no intention of leaving Barcelona. The rest is just fantasy football…”
The Spanish international celebrated his 35th birthday last month.
