NKR Victory Day events: Five freedom fighters awarded Lada cars
The building of Artsakh Union of Freedom Fighters was inaugurated at a festive ceremony in Artsakh’s capital Stepanakert. The Presidents of Armenia and Artsakh, the head of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, parliamentarians and members of the Union attended the ceremony.
Chairman of the Union of Freedom Fighters Samvel Karapetyan, in his remarks, noted the importance of creating such a union, adding that it is important that freedom fighters pass their experience to the future generations.
Upon completion of the ceremony, five freedom fighters were awarded Lada cars, and one car was given to the Union, a Panorama.am correspondent reports from Stepanakert.
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan was awarded the title of Honorable Member of Artsakh Union of Freedom Fighters. The Union is expected to have about 10,000 members.
