Naira Zohrabyan: I think PAP will work at Yerevan Council of Elders
Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) will have 17 seats in Yerevan Council of Elders - just as much as it had in the past four years. But there are various opinions inside the party as to whether or not to take the mandates in the Council of Elders. Secretary of PAP parliamentary faction Naira Zohrabyan confirmed this to Panorama.am.
“Yes, there are various opinions inside the party. Some hold an opinion that because the party’s votes in the Council of Elders are not decisive and the party cannot influence the decisions in the Council, it would be right not to take the mandates. But there is a dominating opinion that Prosperous Armenia is responsible before the 100,000 people that voted for the party and I think the party will work at the Council of Elders and will try with its 17 members to raise those problems concerning Yerevan that need urgent solution,” Ms Zurabyan said.
As for when the party plans to discuss the issue of mandates, the PAP member said that she does not think there will be a special discussion of the issue, especially as the majority of party members are in favor of taking the mandates.
